Ryan Stybel, O.D., is the owner and practicing eye doctor at Look Optometry. He originally joined Positive Eye Ons in 2008, and later acquired Look Optometry. He has over 15 years of experience as a practicing optometrist, and his specialties include scleral and specialty contact lenses, refractive surgery co-management, and the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease.
Education & Experience
Dr. Ryan Stybel completed a bachelor’s in human biology at Michigan State University before earning his Doctor of Optometry from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. His training included extensive clinical rotations focused on eye disease treatment, primary eye care, referral care, and pediatrics.
Patients love Dr. Stybel because of his expertise and delivery — he’s highly trained and knowledgeable, and yet he brings a relaxed approach to eye care that puts folks at ease. He leads by example: he carefully chooses and manages his team to find committed experts who prioritize the patient experience and are proactive about their care. Dr. Stybel’s empathy extends beyond his practice; he spends his free time volunteering at the Saban Free Clinic in Los Angeles, providing essential eye care to underserved families.

Ryan grew up in Michigan, close to Detroit, where he spent his time developing a lifelong appreciation for the great outdoors through active hobbies like hiking, camping, and sports. In his free time, he loves spending time with his wife and kids in Los Angeles, where he lives.
