Dr. Gina Lieu is a native of Los Angeles — she left to pursue dual degrees in biology and chemistry at California State University, before earning her Doctor of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences. While in school, she was a distinguished member of the Beta Sigma Optometric Honor Society.
Education & Experience
While in school, Dr. Lieu learned the ropes of billing, scheduling, and dispensing eyewear as a patient care coordinator, a job she held while finishing her undergraduate degrees and starting optometry school. Ever driven by compassion, she joined the Alliance of Jamaican and American Humanitarians, and traveled to Jamaica where she provided eye exams and healthcare to over 1400 people in impoverished, rural areas of need. She also completed clinical rotations in primary eye care, ocular disease treatment, specialty contact lenses, and pre- and post-operative surgery.
After her doctorate, Dr. Lieu worked as an associate optometrist for another practice before joining Look Optometry. Now she serves patients as a therapeutic licensed eye doctor, and while she has the extensive training to support our team in many different ways, her specialties are focused on treating eye diseases and specialty contact lens fittings.

A chemist at heart, Gina enjoys the science behind following and adjusting recipes, making her an excellent cook and baker. And given the chance, she loves to travel and see the world whenever possible.
